Eucalyptus

Eucalyptus, a tree belonging to the Myrtle family, originates from Australia and Tasmania, where it's celebrated as the official emblematic tree. Today, it thrives in numerous countries with warm, temperate climates, particularly across the Mediterranean region. The tree features a tall, straight trunk clad in smooth, ash-grey bark that occasionally reveals hints of reddish-brown wood underneath. Each winter, the Eucalyptus undergoes a unique transformation, shedding its bark to support growth in both height and diameter. In Australia, some species have been known to soar up to an impressive 100 meters. Its distinctive grey-green leaves are not only visually striking but also a source of a potent essential oil. In southern Europe, the tree is commonly cultivated for paper production, while its aromatic oil is widely utilized in aromatherapy practices.
