Star apple tree

Originally from the West Indies, the Star Apple tree can now be found throughout many tropical regions of the world. This beautiful, tall tree with green and bronze leaves and fruit that resembles large, perfectly round apples, is popular for its ornamental value. The fruit of the Star Apple has a pulp that produces a sweet, white milk, hence its local name of “pomme de lait” (“milk apple”) in the Caribbean and “vu sua” (“mother’s milk”) in Vietnam.
